I would have to say close contact but it really depends on what you're using it for.

I like the all purpose for flat work... a close contact I like for jumping.

I prefer a close contact. I like the close feeling to a horse when I ride!

I love my close contact saddle. I had an all purpose saddle years ago, but that was when I focused a lot on dressage with a bit of jumping, but couldn't afford two saddles.
