It was kinda obvious that she was not really a Grand Prix jumper, wasn't it? It's the internet, kinda to be expected - her advise was not bad though... She also really really doesn't sound like a 12 year old if you ask me. Weird story, and far from clearly resolved.
I guess I had some strange suspicions - but I suppose everyone says that in retrospect! It's obvious she doesn't fully understands the severity of stealing someone's identity, and my sincerest condolences for any and all victims of her foolishness. I suppose it teaches us to take everything you read on here, or anywhere else on the internet, with a grain of salt. You always hope everything is going to be forthright and honest, but tread carefully.
*shrugs* she created the perfect horse fantasy life, maybe a little to perfect. I have to give her props though, for coming up with such a story. But no, you can't always trust someone over the internet, it's so easy to pretend to be something your not. And I hope the woman whose "identity" (more like life since she didn't use the same name) has not suffered any reputational damage.

I read what the lady whose horses she called hers and one of the horses died in may and the girl said he was still alive and she was riding him. I know how that feels. One of the horses I used to ride had to be put down around april or may from heart complications. Its sad when people fanticize about riding him and say its real. I know where the lady is coming from when she says shes mad. And upset. If anyone wants to talk about this or anything about horses with me more, please, feel free to message me.

WOW that was LOW i know your only 12 but seriously that dosent matter!! i cant belive u told us that u were 18 and were a grand prix jumper like frik!!!!! i think that it it retarted how people do this and think it is fine!!!!!
Sure its not fine... but kinda to be expected. There are mass-murdering date-rapists on the interned on kid's chat pages.... a friend's cousin was recently murdered by an online dater.... really, she didn't do that much harm - and if she were really a GP rider, we would have known her from TV - so that was really never a legitimate line anyway.
wow im like shocked! I have to agree with you all, its plain stupid.....if you were going to at least "make a fake life" use your own name, age and well do w/e else, not STEAL someones identify, omg, shes 12...seriously, she could be criminally charged. I hope she knows that. Wow this is rough. I hope the lady is okay though, she and sabre looked like a good team, awe I feel so bad for the lady, not the kid though, jeeze, grow up...
Alright I'm 12 (13 on dec 8) and I don't go around saying I'm some grand prix champion. We all fantasize and play our little games and imagine our horses but I would have never taken it this far. You can be respected without lieing. Thats the worst possible thing you can do. I'm sorry that you thought you were obligated to lie and that this is how you chose to act. I too feel sorry for anything this girl has caused.
Well thank you everyone for your concern. This has been very troubling to me since I found out. One thing I would like to say, for those of you who have not seen my website, I am actually a Grand Prix rider, I currently compete on one, my other GP horse died in May, and I competed in my first GP when I was 18. But this all feeds into the many issues here, using my photos and assuming my likeness could in fact affect my reputation as a competitor and the reputation of my horses, both competition and sale horses.

If you feel you need to lie to make yourself sound good, why not just use your own name ect, and just make up your a fancy rider!? I just totally don't get it. This is kinda feaking me out. I feel TOTALLY sorry for Carly Devine. I still am majorly surprised....shocked...and she's only TWELVE!!!!!!

Join us in a place called reality. Not to mention this poor ladies horse died. and your saying your riding him? Has this girl have no respect? I am vey sorry for the trouble that had been caused for the target of this crazy, dilusional girls fantasy. 12. wow. Its crazy what the youth is capable of. I would never even consider doing something like that. Once again. DISGUSTING.

I agree like this is almost embarassing for Carly. I hope to ∫e a GP rider but if someone stole my identity i would flip! and holly shes twelve thats GROSS shes going to have probelms as she gets older!!!!!
I don't believe at all that "katie" is really a 12 year old named Kelly, I have filed reports with 2 police departments, and the attorney general and have hired an attorney as well so I'm taking this seriously and would appreciate any other information
No one here knows anything about her really. All we know is she said she was Carly and we all thought that she was Carly. I've talked to her and so have many people. I believe that she created many different accounts to make it seem real but when she got caught she deleted every profile info and pics.
