ok so i can take two horses to college with me and i have three horses to choose from. One is my AQHA gelding that i have been riding for a few years now and we know each other very well, but i would like to get him into shape for hunter shows this spring. the second is a morgan gelding who is not broke to ride that i would be doing all the basic ground work with so that his owner can break him this spring, i would do a lot of work with standing, lunging, sacking out, and saddling. The third is a morgan mare that was ridden 4 years ago and not treated very well, though she did show in the higher levels of saddleseat, and she is crazy. I would like to work with all of them but i don't have the room at my school. If i bring either my gelding or the mare then i would use one of them in my western riding class, and i would like more of a challenge in that class. I just don't know which two to choose. What do you think?
Thanks all

I would definately bring the AQHA gelding, he seems like the best out of the three. I would also bring the unbroken gelding, because the new surroundings would not help the crazy mare at all.

I would bring your AQHA - but remember that the transition to college can be a rough one - and with classes, clubs, socialization, school work you might not have time to ride as much as you like. I begged my parents to bring my horse to school when I was a freshman and then once I got there I realized she was better off at home because I only had time to ride 2 maybe 3 times per week. If possible I would wait until your second semester to bring your horses with you!

Thanks for your answers. this is my second semester in school, and i'm in school for horse training and management, so my horse would be ridden everyday for my riding class. My trainer back at home tried to ride the mare yesterday and almost got killed in the process(thank you ass hole trainers who beat her and made her crazy!). So idk if bringing her down here would be beneficial to her(since the barn here is like a show barn and thats where her bad past was) and i'm thinking that the two geldings would be the best option.
