The spring cleaning bug has bitten me and I spent most of the day cleaning out my feed and tack rooms, reorganizing everything and figuring out what I can sell. Anyone else been doing some spring cleaning around the barn?

Anyone have spring horse projects planned? We have to finish the pasture fence, put in a wood paddock and are planning a round pen.

Now that summer is approaching, what does everyone do to control fly's and biting insects? Do you use fly masks, sheets, sprays, fly predators, a combo of all? Any natural spray recipes that work?

I need a bit of help... whenever I ride my horse in a ring he is fine, but whenever i take him into the open he refuses to walk or turn. the more I turn him to the right he resists the bit and goes back and turns left

I really like tis new stables where I moved Pebbles too. It's more like a horse country club because other than monthly dues I pay membership dues once a year and needed to have insurance for instance I had to get USEF. Plus once a month I have to dedicate 3hrs of work at the stables or I pay $50 more per month. Do you stable your horse and what kind of special requirements are needed in order to stable your horse?

I'm having a hard time trying to get my youngster to stretch down and forward with his neck when I ride him in the arena. He carries his neck higher than I would like for where he is in his training and I want for him to stretch forward into the contact. Anyone have any exercises for getting him to go long and low?

How do you get yourself to relax while riding, especially jumping? I have a horrible tendency to get very tense, therefore making my horse more tense, rendering me more nervous. Do you see the horrible cycle? It gets better and worse over the years. The more lessons I take the better, as most people would say about their own problems, but I can't afford a lesson every week. Any advice in the meantime? Thanks!!

When you're spinning in a Reining class, are you supposed to start facing the judges and end facing them? What happens if you don't?

Ok guys, I came home yesterday from lunch and my paint was lame on his front right. he will put SOME weight on it but he is obviously in pain when he walks. I checked his leg THOROUGHLY, and see no kind of swelling heat or any obvious signs of injury, no scrapes or abrasions of any kind...... hoof Abscess? I don't see any punctures or anything in the hoof either...I will be calling the vet this evening if he shows no sign of improvement. Iv heard that pain from an abscess will NOT go away with bute, so if I give him some bute and he is still just as lame, than its probably an abscess, has anyone else heard this??? He is on stall rest right now until I can get home today to check him out again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks yall!

Does anybody have suggestions for moving a horse from Southern California to Wyoming? I've been thinking about hiring a transport company, but since I'm pretty new to this, I would appreciate recommendations and suggestions! Thanks!
