Hi, my name is Matt Hiltman. I'm the Head Knight here at Medieval Times, and I train all of our jousters. In, in jousting, the, there were several horses or types of horses that we use and the most common was a Courser. It was a medium-build horse that was built for speed and stamina. They were, they were quick and agile. The idea was to have a fast horse that would, that would present, would allow you to present a steady lands and in order to strike your opponent with more accuracy. Also in use was the destrier, which was a heavier horse. It was a, typically a draft horse and it was very large, typically weighed twice what a regular standard horse would weigh. The knights used those type of horses to deliver a more powerful blow to their opponent in the hopes of, on horsing him. And that is what types of horses were used in the joust. My name is Matt Hiltman.
