Hi, I'm Patti Fiedler from Amber Glen Equestrian Center. Today, we're going to talk a little bit about bedding. Depending on where you are in the country, there's various types of beddings. There's everything from straw, there's shavings, there's sawdust, and there's pelleted bedding. So, depending on where you are is going to depend on what you use. We like to use the shavings if you want a nice, fluffy stall. Remember, you want them to be a good thickness, anywhere from six to 12 inches depending on your flooring underneath. Your pelleted bedding, again, you're going to make that a little bit thicker, depending on your flooring underneath. The pelleted bedding is an excellent bedding if you want to be able to take your stall up every day. Your shavings are good on dirt floors, or on concrete floors. Just remember, again, you're going to want to have a thickness of the bedding. Your sawdust is another type of bedding that people use. You just have to watch and make sure that it's not dusty, and it is also very clean, and watch the type of wood that's in the shavings, or in the sawdust. Straw is mainly used for different locations, and different areas. It's great for use when you're having foals, but it's used up north primarily. There are some tips for bedding for horses, and I'm Patti from Amber Glen in Pinellas Park, Florida.
