Hi, I'm Patty Fiedler, Level 3 ARI Instructor and Trainer. Today, I'm going to give you some tips on a worming schedule for your equestrian friend. What you want to do is make sure that you stay on a schedule throughout the year and that you use a wormer that is adequate for the type of parasites that your horse has. These are some of the common wormers that, that are use in everyday equestrian life. You can alternate them; it's just important to always stay in a good worming schedule. You always want to keep track of them and you want to make sure there's enough wormer in here that you can worm the horse through his proper size. All the wormers will have on their sizes for the horse by weight and you want to utilize it to the exact weight of your horse. If you aren't sure of that, your vet will always be able to tell you what he recommends for you to use. Depending on the parts of the country that you're in is going to dictate your worming schedule as well as the amount of horses on your property, the turnover of horses on your property and also if you're going to shows throughout the country. Anywhere that you go that there's other horses, maybe the possibility of catching different worms. That's some tips about a worming schedule from Patty Fiedler, Amber Glen Equestrian Center in Pinellas Park, Florida.
