After a successful Global Champions Tour final leg in 2009 Doha, the capital of Qatar, returns in 2011 to open the calendar from 17 to 19 March.

Doha is the heart of Qatar, with most of the population living in the city. What was once a small bedouin village lost in the desert has become in just a few decades a large modern city with skyscrapers and a major business hub in the Middle East. The government has also made continuous efforts to develop tourism and there is now a lot to be seen here: Museum of Islamic Arts, Corniche, Palm Tree Island, Spiral Mosque, Souqs, and Pearl of Qatar artificial island.
The beautiful city is filled with plenty of things to do, whether it is shopping, clubbing, relaxing, dining, or whatever other activities come to mind. Shopping is a main attraction in Doha, as there are several large malls with all sorts of worldwide brands being sold- all tax-free.
Throughout history, one of the great things about sport on a global scale is the ability to bring different people and different cultures together. Qatar show jumping, over recent years, has reached the top realms within the sport with many top level international results. Qatar continues to show as a nation that they are very serious about sports and their sports development reinforcing Qatar’s sporting ambitions, locally as well as internationally.
