Also the Guardian Angel app (FREE) for smart phone would work out great for a trail rider you can set a timer say the ride takes you an hour. If the timer on the app is not reset it sends texts and emails to a list of people that you can set up, also with the texts and email it gives your GPS location. you can also put in your own message like "I'm on trail B and need help ! " and the message is sent out with texts and emails every minute until you close the app.

Check your emergency contact phone number now. 911 may not always be the best emergency contact. In many areas 911 goes through a county system for dispatching and unless you know your exact coordinates and location the response time can be slowed to an almost an hour. You might be best to call your sheriff, police, or local hospital for services. Please speak with all stables owners, managers, trail ride organizers, and your friends to enter the correct emergency phone contact number into your cell phone. Don't wait until an emergency to find out that the help you though was ten minutes away couldn't be reached by dialing 911. Unfortunately, in many areas of the country,it is quicker to call directly to your emergency service provider than routing through 911. That precious time could save the life of you or someone you know. Thank you.
