How to become a thoroughbred horse racing trainer. This is a pretty deep subject and I'll try to answer this as clearly and as quickly as possible. But this is even more in depth than if you wanted to be a jockey. Because, if you wanted to become a jockey, or a horse rider, you basically just have to learn the skills. Well, a trainer not only has to learn the skills of training a race horse, but they also have to learn the rules and regulations that go with training that horse and the responsibilities of running a crew of stable hands knowing all the rules and regulations for their crew and stable hands and then they also need to know the rules and regulations of the entries, everything that has to do with the racing office. Making their horses prepared and eligible for certain races and pointing their horses towards those races. So it becomes a very complicated thing. And then besides that, they also have to have a strong relationship with their blacksmith, and their veterinarian that they're going to deal with that there's going to be a very big part of their operation. Besides what trainers wanting to try to get as many horses or as many good horses from owners and try to attract them, they're going to have to be very good at all of these things in order to have people come to them to train their horses. There's also medication rules that there are some things that are forbidden that you need to know all these rules and regulations with that of course. But there are some things that are permitable in horse racing that are to help horses with inflammation, and maybe fevers, anything. That of course we all know that the horses have different issues just like children do. But there's a very strict policy, there's very strict regulated rules, and the trainer needs to know all these things, which is way before it even comes down to training the racehorse. With training the racehorse, that also takes a lot of experience knowing, every horse is an individual, knowing what's the best application to train that horse, to get them to the race in the best possible shape and condition they can be. So, as you can see, training a racehorse is very involved, takes a lot of experience to get that level to even pass the trainer's test. The trainer's test is pretty in dept, it has to be, this is more like a real test, it's a written test where you have to know the answers to many of these rules and regulations. And so it's a pretty involved thing getting a trainer's test, and I admire anyone that's able to do that.
