The barrel saddles, for instance, have a a higher cantle with a little deeper pocket to hold you in and higher horn to hang onto while you are running the while you are running your pattern. The reining horse, the reining saddle such as this, has a lower cantle and a lower horn to allow, so there is no interference with your hand and the the reins and it also a little closer contact and the skirt is cut out a little bit more for more feel with your legs. The cutting saddle, is a a lower cantle and flatter seat. And it has a higher palm and a higher horn to help you stay in the saddle better.
