Hi! Now, we're in our stall, we're going to catch Sparky. I like the horse to acknowledge me. I've actually walked into his room and he needs to invite me in actually. I don't want to just walk in here and go after him. I have invaded his space and this is his room, like I said. So, I'm going to make a move that he acknowledges me, just for safety reasons. I don't want to go at a horse in an angle that gets me in danger from behind. I want him to actually look at me, face me and let me know that it's okay, for me to go ahead and catch him. Now, obviously he's eating right now and he's more interested in the hay, so I'm going to have to probably make a little bit of a move at him, to get him to turn toward me. I'll make a little sound there. Now, see how he's acknowledged me? Now, that he knows I'm here, that's my sign of an invitation. Now, it's okay for me to be in here. I'm in his room and he said, "It's alright, you can come in with me." Now, I'm going to take and walk over here to his right side and put the halter on from this right side. Now, the reason I do that, for one thing that's the way halters are made. I could just wrap my arm around his neck, grab the long tail of the halter, slip it down and up around his nose and then I'm going to, ooh, are you a little bit perky? Now, I'm going to just take and make sure that it fits correctly, alright? I'm going to make sure the halter fits correctly around his nose and it's nice and snug. I don't like a loose halter, because that could be a danger in itself, horse could really get hung up on something with a loose halter. So, then I'm going to take the top of it and I'm going to bring it around, and just buckle it, so that it stays nice and snug on his head, alright? I'm going to slip that tail down through there and now Sparky's haltered and we're ready to go saddle up.
