I'm Dr. Gary Garcia, Keystone Equine Associates, we are outside of Tampa, Florida in Odessa, Florida. I'll just briefly mention some skin diseases. Here in Florida we have all arrays of skin diseases. We have diseases that are mainly centered around reactions to insects. We have insects twenty-four seven here. We have insect allergies, we get feed allergies, we get contact allergies, we have solar dermatitis from the excessive sunlight here, we have moisture so we get fungal diseases. So we see lots of ringworm, which is a fungal disease that is also zoonosis to humans so you need to be careful if you can give fungal wound on your on your horse to you know to wash your hands properly. We have bacterial diseases, a disease called dermatophilosis, which is pretty common seasonally here in Florida during the rainy months. And we do see skin tumors as well. One skin tumor called a sarcoid, which is pretty much inherent to horses. We see bit of that, and those can vary in size, and in location on the horse. And we do see other cancers of the horse say like melanoma in the horse, squamous cell carcinoma, which is again induced by sunlight, excessive sunlight. We have mass cell tumors, and we do see adenomas, and we see cutaneous lympho sarcomas as well. So if you have any masses on your horse or you have any skin disease or your horse is chewing itself like it does in most of these skin diseases, and rubbing itself. You need to call your veterinarian have them look up, look at your horse, and have them look at your horse, and diagnose what the ailment would be.
