A horse that is responsive to your voice (as i have always been tought that when you lunge that one uses your voice adis rather than nothing/ or whip only), and a horse that is not too spooky or fresh - this is in the case of having a rider on the horse in a lesson. Xx

Hello, my name is Rebekah Larimer and I am an internationally certified horse trainer and instructor, and today I'm going to tell you what type of horse and what your horse needs to know to ensure a successful lunge lesson. The most important thing is that your horse already knows how to, how to lunge properly, walk, trot, canter, and of course the halt, the most important. Also you want a horse with a very good temperament, one that is forgiving of their rider and is very steady. You know that they can keep a nice consistent trot, so that the rider is able to really focus on themselves during the lunge lesson.
