Hi I'm Cyrus Confectioner, just introducing you to the very specific requirements which one has to have while playing polo. You've seen the players, they have to wear protective gear while playing because it's a very fast sport and also sometimes can become very dangerous. A player is equipped with a helmet. He can wear protective gear on his elbows, on his shins, on his knees he wears a protective guard and special trousers which are called breeches to put that protective guard in place. He also wears boots made of leather to protect his ankles and legs but there are other equipments, face masks. This is a piece of protective gear so that it will not be sludged from the helmet and protect injury to one's face. The USPA recommends wearing a helmet with an attached face mask so that it protects the player from being hit and balls traveling between 80 and 100 miles per hour at times. Many players complain that they cannot sometimes see through the face mask and this may also with additional weight cause neck injury but there is currently no information available to support this theory. Goggles are also required because this is another safety measure because if the ball is traveling the mallet is being swung. The frames are required to withstand velocities of around 25 miles per hour. Goggles are used different specifications, different types basically to protect the eyes from getting hurt and as in any other sport you have equipment like wrist bands to prevent the sweat from going down on to the hands. These are a few of the small but important aspects of equipment which are required for the game of polo. Thank you.
