About This Video

Riding breeches should fit fairly close to the body, and the knee patches should be aligned directly at the knee. Find the appropriate pair of breeches for horseback riding with help from the owner of an English tack store in this video on horse supplies.

Hi! I'm Tori Johnson with The Leading Rein and we're going to talk about how to choose breeches. There are several different types. Egan here is holding a pair of full seat breeches, and these are different because they have a seat that goes all the way around and all the way through the knee. Regular knee breeches just have a knee patch, and we are looking in her breeches fit very well. With breeches, you want them to be pretty skin tight. You want to be on your waist pretty well, and you want the knee patch to be right on your knee. Franchesca is holding jodhpurs which is what most kids wear because this goes down over the pedic boot and then it moves around under to keep 'em staying in place. Because when you're a smaller child, you don't have to wear tall boots like she has on.
