A medium horse brush can be used to line up the hairs and grab dirt that lies on the surface of the horse's coat. Learn about using a medium-bristle brush to clean up a horse's coat with help from a horse riding teacher in this free video on horse grooming.
This is Maggie Connolly with Hawthorne Stables, I am going to show you how to use a medium bristle brush. This is a medium bristle brush so it lies between the hard bristles, and the soft bristles. The hard bristle goes ahead, and puts the lines up the hairs. This is going to line up the hairs a little bit more, and grab a little bit more of the dirt of the surface of the coat. We start the same way we do the hard brush, and just follow the hairs. We try to line up the hairs, and just grab a little bit more of the loose hair, and the dirt. It just takes it a little bit step further in eradicating the dirt, and off the top of the coat, and shining up the coat as it does on the hard brush. So this is just a nice little in between in order to try to line up the hairs, and just clean up the coat. Great for grooming. This is Maggie Connolly with Hawthorne Stables. Medium bristle brush.
