Hi my name is Maryjo Turnbull and I'm here at Silver Buckle Ranch in Brush Prairie, Washington and I wanted to talk to you a little bit today about the benefits of horse back riding for young people. There are some really great fundamental benefits to horseback riding for kids, the obvious being of course great exercise and physical activity. Horses are some of Mother Nature's best teachers and so there are some outstanding worthwhile life skills that just naturally come along with being active with horses. Some of these skills include raising responsibility awareness and levels, creating a good work ethic with the kids, creating friendship with instructors and mentorship as well as meeting new kids in the barn that have like interests. Horses help teach kids patience as well as tolerance, not just tolerance for horses but also tolerance for other people. So again there are some great life skills benefits for children when they are involved with horsemanship activities.
