To select a good paint horse breeder, you'll first want to consider what you would like your paint horse to do. Select the right paint horse breeder for you with advice from a horseback riding instructor in this video on horse breeds.
Hi, I am Teri Carter of Saddlebrook Stables in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. Today I am going to talk to you about how to select a good paint breeder. What you want to do is first figure out what you would like your paint horse to do. What discipline you would like for it to achieve. And then you would want to research your breeder. If you would like for it to hunt seat, and jumping, you would want to find a good hunt seat and jumping breeder, or someone that breeds for that particular style of horse. If you would like for it to do Western pleasure or halter, you would like to find a breeder that breeds for that particular type of bloodline. Paint horses, the stallions can produce certain types of color configurations, and if you research your particular breeder, you will find out if his stallion is capable of producing the type of color configuration that you so desire. So again, research your breeder, make sure that your paint horse is going to have the type of color configuration that you desire, that the stallion can produce that, and that your paint horse is geared towards the type of discipline that you would like to achieve.
