Alis Carbone was born on July 8, 1988 in Gig Harbor, Washington. She attended Gig Harbor High School and is now a Communications Major at the University of Washington, Tacoma Campus. Aside from riding and teaching lessons she enjoys staying in shape, wakeboarding, and snowboarding.
Alis' mount, Navarro, is a 14 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding out of Inspekteur. She started riding Navarro about 3 years ago. At the time he was almost unrideable but, regardless, Alis never disliked riding him and always believed he was something special.
In 2007 Alis took him out and showed him at 1st and 2nd level after a long winter of getting to know each other and bonding. In 2008 she took him out as a 3rd level horse. The push to making this years young rider team from a 3rd level horse was a hard one, but Navarro took it all in stride.
Now in 2009 they are off to Young Riders as a very green, but very determined and grateful pair. They are grateful for the opportunity to be representing Region 6 and Alis is forever grateful to Navarro's owner Heather Beaulieu for giving her the opportunity to ride such an amazing and talented horse as well as for all her support on this journey.
